Dog development
Here are the stadiums or phases of dog development are important in the dog’s life. Hoping that it can help you understand your companion, changes, fears, anxieties, ect …. In addition to you help know what to do or not do, and when doing it or not. Enjoy the maximum of 8 to 16 weeks to make it known and see as much as possible, such as: cars, bicycle, motorcycle, cat, dog, horses, children, trash, trucks, sewer mouth, sump , Flowers, ect …. And train it, as much as possible everywhere, your companion will be winner and you too.
When a dog is born, he does not know he’s a dog, he will learn it by attending other dogs. He is born without identity. According to some statistics:
We save a dog in three,
We save a dog in three difficulty,
We lose a dog in three.
39% of dogs are euthanized around the age of one year, because of a problem of dysfunction or behavioral problem.
15% of dogs are euthanized following the first year, especially because of one or more behavioral problems.
Socialization:
It is the learning of means of communication in a social group, it comprises 2 period;
1-Period of primary socialization: (from 3 to 12 weeks), it is the learning and the development of the modalities of interrelationships between individuals, it allows the puppy to learn how much it belongs and to interpret the communication to integrate it into a social structure.
– It allows the puppy to learn how much it belongs,
– It also learns communication and it includes invitation attitudes to games, dominance and submission and inhibition of bite,
– This period is sensitive and primary, so if the puppy can not realize it, it will be difficult for him to complete his secondary socialization around the age of twelve months.
2-period of secondary socialization: (12 to 24 months)
– If the dog has not realized primary socialization, he can achieve secondary socialization, on the other hand it will be much more difficult, less stable and less perfect.
– This period is a refinement of the acquis of the first period of socialization, so if the primary socialization did not take place, the dog following secondary socialization, will remain very childish and immature.
Sociability:
It is the search for social contact, the presence of others (humans, dogs, other animals ….).
Impregnation stadium: (from 8 to 10 weeks)
– This is a fragile period because traumatic experiments will be able to make the dog shy or fearful permanently bringing defensive reactions.
– On the other hand, positive and enriched experiments will allow the opposite.
– It is therefore necessary to avoid negative situations (for example: inappropriate manipulations).
– This short sensitive period is characterized by extremely fast and irreversible learning.
Competition stage: (from 10 to 12 weeks)
– During this stage the puppy competes in order to obtain more benefits and benefits of his environment.
– In addition it can also demonstrate some behavioral regressions (for example: it was peculiar to 8 weeks and becomes unclean at 12 weeks).
– This is a short time that is a form of preliminary in the juvenile period.
Attachment and detachment of the owner: (10 and 16 weeks)
– The puppy will start attempting to his owner at 10 weeks and 16 weeks, the owner will come off from the animal.
– If the owner does not do this detachment, he will be able to create anxieties during future separations.
Take note that from 16 weeks the self-destruction phase of cells (not or enough served) are started. There is often an increase in fear, aggressiveness, jammaking, rumbling, ect … towards the contexts not well known.
Next week I’m going to talk to you about the development of dogs until the age of 4
Thank you and with pleasure,
