We know cats aren’t always cooperative when it’s time to get their claws trimmed. There are several little tips and tricks to make this task easier and less unpleasant for your cat. Coastal offers us a video explaining several tips to be more efficient when trimming your kitten’s claws!

This tool with an easy to grip handle is designed for small animals. Begin nail clipping by firmly holding your cat’s paw and the part of the nail clipper with the screw away from you. (Demonstrated in the video at 00.25, seconds) Cut the top of the claw in one stroke, making sure not to cut the part with the vein in the claw. The blood vessel can be seen more easily after applying baby oil. Remember not to cut too long in length at once. If your cat’s claws are very long, cut off a small part and wait approximately 10 days before cutting a part back.
