Le fait d\u2019y voyager exposerait votre chien au risque de contracter cette maladie.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Leishmaniose\u00a0: qu\u2019est-ce que c\u2019est\u00a0?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>C\u2019est une maladie transmise par la piq\u00fbre d\u2019un moucheron appel\u00e9 phl\u00e9botome. Elle est due \u00e0 un parasite microscopique, connu sous le nom de Leishmania infantum. Durant la saison d\u2019activit\u00e9 de ce moucheron qui s\u2019\u00e9tale de mai \u00e0 septembre, il se peut que les chiens soient piqu\u00e9s \u00e0 hauteur de 100 fois par heure. Comment cela se manifeste\u00a0? Lorsqu\u2019un moucheron infect\u00e9 se met \u00e0 piquer un chien, les parasites sont d\u00e9pos\u00e9s \u00e0 la surface de la peau. Ensuite, une l\u00e9sion minime appel\u00e9e chancre se fait voir, la plupart du temps sur une oreille ou sur le museau. Le parasite commence ainsi \u00e0 envahir les cellules du chien, se r\u00e9pand dans les organes internes et se prend \u00e0 affecter le syst\u00e8me immunitaire.<\/p>\n<p>Tous les chiens qui sont en d\u00e9placement ou habitent sur le pourtour m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en peuvent contracter cette maladie. Notons \u00e9galement que cette maladie peut aussi toucher l\u2019\u00eatre humain, son \u00e9volution est assez lente ce qui fait que certains signes cliniques de la maladie ne se manifestent que plusieurs ann\u00e9es plus tard. En se reproduisant dans certaines cellules de l\u2019organisme, les parasites vont causer de s\u00e9rieux probl\u00e8mes. Le chien va avoir de la fi\u00e8vre, des probl\u00e8mes cutan\u00e9s dont notamment la perte de poils. Il pr\u00e9sente un amaigrissement progressif, des ongles anormalement longs, des saignements au niveau du nez. Et les organes sont par la suite atteints : rate, reins, foie, articulation. Pour prot\u00e9ger votre chien de la leishmaniose, plusieurs moyens sont mis \u00e0 votre disposition. Comme on dit il vaut mieux pr\u00e9venir que gu\u00e9rir ! Pour ce faire, vous pouvez utiliser des colliers \u00e0 base de deltam\u00e9thrine assurant \u00e9galement une protection contre les tiques. De plus, le traitement bien qu\u2019il soit compliqu\u00e9 ne permet pas de se d\u00e9barrasser de mani\u00e8re d\u00e9finitive du parasite.
